Luoyang, Henan, known as Luyi, is the main birthplace of Chinese civilization
and the longest and most dynastic capital in China. To luoyang tourism, in
addition to white horse temple and peony garden, there is also an indispensable

Grottoes, Datong Yungang Grottoes, Tianshui Maijishan Grottoes known as the
"four major grottoes in China" Longmen Grottoes.
Longmen Mountain, named the first of the eight sights shanghai to sanya flights of Luoyang, has
been a famous tourist destination since ancient times. Emperor Xiaowen of the
Northern Wei Dynasty, after moving to Luoyang in Taihe in 16 years (493), began
to cut cave walls in Longmen Mountain. Since then, the Eastern Wei Dynasty,
Western Wei Dynasty, Northern Qi Dynasty, Sui, Tang, five dynasties, Song
Dynasty and other dynasties have been built on a large scale for more than 400
years, and finally formed a large-scale grottoes statue group up to 1 km north
and south.
According to statistics, the Longmen Grottoes exist in different sizes of
cave niches 2345, by the Chinese World Records Association included as the
largest number of existing grottoes in China. More than 100,000 statues and more
than 2,800 inscriptions are densely honeycombed on the walls of Longmen Mountain
and Xiangshan Rock on both sides of the Yishui River, the largest of which is
17.14 meters tall and the smallest is only 2 centimeters, known as the pinnacle
of Chinese stone carving art.
Fengxian Temple, located at the southern end of Longmen Mountain, was cut in
the early Tang Dynasty and completed in two years (AD 675). The nine cheap flights from shanghai to
sanya statues of Lushena Buddha, disciple, Bodhisattva, King of Heaven and
Rexes in the temple have a rich face and complete shape, showing the artistic
characteristics of the Buddha statue of the Tang Dynasty and becoming the symbol
of this great era of the Tang Dynasty.
The main Buddha in Fengxian Temple-Lushena Buddha,17.14 meters high, full
face, serene and comfortable, known as the "most beautiful Buddha in China ",
and by many believers at home and abroad admire. The Buddha was carved according
to the image of Wu Zetian, who also sponsored 20,000 pounds of fat for the
excavation of Fengxian Temple.
Completed in the first year of the Tang Dynasty in Yonglong (AD 680), Wanfo
Cave, named for its neatly arranged 15,000 small Buddha statues, is the most
complete combination of the Longmen Grottoes. When Mei Lanfang, a famous Chinese
theater guru, visited Longmen in his early years, he was attracted by the
beautiful image of Buddha statue in Wanfo Cave, and then applied to his
performance after artistic processing.
In the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 500), the three holes in Binyang were built
by Emperor Emperor Xuanwu of the Northern Wei Dynasty for his father, Emperor
Xiaowen. A Buddha statue about 10 meters high in the cave is known as "the most
adorable Buddha in history" because of the broken thumb of his right hand. After
the network spread, triggered numerous netizens worship, many tourists even
specially to find this "scissors hand" Buddha photo.
In the Northern Wei Dynasty Emperor Xiaowen years of the lotus cave, because
of the cave carved a high-relief lotus named, it is said that the Great Hall of
the People is based on the design of the lotus. Unfortunately, during the war of
the 1930s and 1940s, the statue of the Longmen Grottoes was hacked wildly, and
the head of the Buddha in the Lotus Cave was stolen.
