Chiang Mai Sunday Market (also known as Sunday Night Market) is the largest
and most famous night market in Chiang Mai. Every Sunday at 4 p.m., from spring airlines baggage
allowance Tapeimen, East Gate of Chiang Mai, along Ratchadamnoen Road and
several nearby forks, nearly one kilometer of traffic control will be
implemented and turned into a pedestrian street.
A popular bazaar
There are all kinds of food, drink, play and shopping here. The lively scene
lasts until midnight. Many tourists arrived in Chiang Mai on Sunday in order to
visit the night market.
The market is very popular and the rush hour is rather Singapore to Shanghai flights
crowded. It is suggested that you come earlier. At that time, there will be not
only pavements on both sides of the road, but also vendors in the middle of the
road. They sell all kinds of things. Besides souvenirs and delicious snacks that
can be bought in other night markets, there will also be a lot of gadgets
created by local young designers that integrate the classical and modern
aesthetics of Thailand. Some products can even be DIY, which is very suitable
for selecting hand letters.
Handicrafts of high quality and low price
Chiang Mai is the most effective area in the "One Village, One Specialty"
support program implemented by the Queen of Thailand. Many Thai people living in
the countryside produce exquisite and personalized crafts. Many of the goods
sold at Sunday fairs are hand-made in Chiang Mai and its surrounding areas,
ranging from wood carvings, lacquerware, silver ornaments, porcelain,
hand-painted paper umbrellas, bamboo weaving products, embroidered cloth bags to
exotic Tess and Tamar. They are known for their elegant shapes, beautiful colors
and exquisite workmanship. They are also of good quality and low price. Friends
who like classical styles should not miss them.
Because not only tourists but also local residents will come to the market
for a stroll, the offer is more realistic and there is little room for
bargaining, unless you buy more than a few bosses at a time, the price will be
reduced a little. If you look at what goods, and want to compare what prices
other stalls sell, this may be very difficult, because there are few repetitive
goods, so if you think it is appropriate to start.
Collection of Thai Cuisine
In addition to shopping, eating is also a feature of the Sunday market. This
is the gathering place of all Thai delicacies. The price is low and you can eat
enough with your belly open, such as famous mango sticky rice, fresh tropical
fruit, refreshing juice, attractive barbecue and so on. There are so many kinds
that people can't catch sight of them. In addition to the food stalls on the
main road, there are more snack stalls in the temple, which can be visited for a
long time.
Ethnic Street Performance
In addition, when you go to the market, you can often see street art
performances, singing and playing traditional folk songs with Thai national
flavor, which are full of appeal. The market is very big on Sunday. If you are
tired of walking, massage shops are everywhere on both sides of the street.
There are both outdoor and indoor markets. You can massage and rest for a while
before you go. According to the foot generally 150-200 Thai plants, good stores
will be slightly more expensive.
National Anthem broadcasting
Around 18:00, you will encounter the National Anthem broadcasting in the
morning and evening, when the whole boiling night market will suddenly quiet
down, and the national anthem will be played after the resumption of the
previous lively appearance, but also please do not speak as the Romans do.
