Between 2009 and 2018, the ministry of agriculture and rural affairs' quality supervision and inspection center for milk and dairy products tested a total of 220,000 batches of fresh milk samples, a relatively high number in the world, wang said. The quality and safety database containing 2.2 million pieces of data was established. After scientific analysis and analysis of the big data, it should be said that the state of fresh milk quality and safety in China has been comprehensively and accurately grasped, which can be summarized into three aspects:

First, the quality and safety of baby fresh milk sampling pass rate in the forefront of the food industry. The pass rate of sampling inspection of fresh milk in China has been kept above 99.7% for many years, and the pass rate of sampling inspection of melamine and other prohibited additives has been kept at 100%. In 2018, the pass rate of sampling inspection of fresh milk nationwide reached 99.9 percent, 2.4 percentage points higher than that of agricultural products in the same period, and 2.3 percentage points higher than the pass rate of overall sampling inspection of food. The quality and safety of fresh milk in China are at the best level in history.

Second, the health index of fresh milk has reached the international advanced level. The total number of bacterial colonies and the somatic cell number are the two most common indicators used to measure the quality and safety of fresh milk in the world. The total number of bacterial colonies in fresh milk reflects the sanitary conditions of cow breeding and milk. The average number of bacterial colonies in China in 2018 was 295,000 CFU per milliliter, which is significantly lower than the standard of 500,000 in the United States, Japan and other countries. The somatic cell number in fresh milk reflects the health of cows, the incidence of mastitis and the quality of milk. In 2018, the national average monitoring data was 330,400, which was significantly lower than the 750,000 in the United States and 400,000 in the European Union. It can be seen that the total number of colonies and somatic cell number in fresh milk in China have reached the level of developed countries.

Third, the nutritional quality of fresh milk has been steadily improved. Milk has been called the closest thing to the perfect food, also known as white blood, thanks to its excellent nutritional quality. Milk fat and milk protein are two important indexes to measure the nutritional quality of milk. According to the results of the national fresh milk sampling in 2018, the average milk fat reached 3.84, 0.25 percentage points higher than that of 2012 and 0.74 percentage points higher than the national standard. The average milk protein test was 3.25, 0.08 percentage points higher than 2012 and 0.45 percentage points higher than the national standard.

The results showed that the monitoring average value of milk fat and milk protein in fresh milk increased year by year, and the basic rule was to go up a step in three years.
